When I first read this quote I laughed out loud. Strange to think that a quote about death could be funny. Actually I think the laughter was more about the deep truth of the statement rather than its humor. As unpleasant or uncomfortable as it is to acknowledge, we are all going to die some day. The bright side is that when you are confronted with this thought, you are able to relax and realize that you don't have to take things so seriously. You can feel lighter, have some fun, and enjoy the present moment!

I am a huge fan of having fun, and not only in my free time. Fun is an attitude you can take with you everywhere, even to work. Successful living is about about having fun at work and play. This doesn't have to mean that you aren't serious about your work, it can mean that you have fun at the same time that you are productive and effective. I keep hearing from people around me that WHEN X happens THEN they will be happy. What usually happens is that when X does happen they have a new list of requirements for happiness and instead of enjoying the moment they are off to the next conquest.
Why not be happy right now, whatever the circumstances? The present moment is a gift, enjoy it. I agree with Barry Neil Kaufmann, happiness is a choice.
